HISSEZ Ô was born out of a desire to create products that would have real meaning. Amanda had worked as a project manager and designer in the field of textile and tableware design, for various internationally-renowned companies and leading brands. After this rich experience, she wanted to continue to ply her trade on a more human scale, and to care for her surrounding ecosystem with humanity, economy and respect for the planet.
The idea came to fruition at the end of 2016, after having seen two sailor friends use old sails to create a large bag to store their new sails. She thought this was a great idea! Boat sails, and the whole universe of nautical outfitting: what an inspiration! She started to imagine the creation of bags in small sizes. Two days later, she was in a fantastic dream world surrounded by bags and sails. The idea blossomed. She followed her intuition and 6 months later, she was 100% committed to HISSEZ Ô.
She decided to join forces with a network of sail makers and sewing workshops, to put her experience to good use. And yes indeed, we can create fashionable products out of recycled materials, if we do it right. With responsibility and commitment. It is really possible!
